Welcome to Potomac Pedalers!
Potomac Pedalers is a non-profit educational, recreational and social organization for bicycling enthusiasts. We are the largest cycling club in the Washington, DC region, and we're also one of the largest bike clubs in the nation.
Potomac Pedalers offers over 1,000 group rides each year, comprehensively covering the variable terrain of our nation's capital and the surrounding countryside of Maryland and Virginia. Our ride distances are typically between 15 and 75 miles, and average speeds range from 8 mph to more than 20 mph. In other words, we have rides for cyclists of all abilities.

Potomac Pedalers is once again sponsoring a beautiful and relaxing biking weekend at the Allenberry Resort & Playhouse, located in Boiling Springs, PA, only 100 miles from Washington, DC and 115 miles from Philadelphia. Enjoy scenic rides past historic stone houses and barns surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery. Rides range in length from 11 to 75 miles, providing variety for all types of riders.
Choose a ride to the Amish country store for browsing, a short ride for a cool snack, or a leisurely paced ride along the shady Yellow Breeches Creek. The routes vary from flat streambed valleys to serious climbs. There will be featured rides each day with leaders.

Nokesville Ride and Picnic - August 24, 2014
What: Rides in every ride class with distances ranging from 11 – 51 miles

Come out to the Nokesville, Virginia countryside on Sunday August 24th for a day of riding and fun ending with a barbecue/picnic. Now in its 17th year this annual gathering has grown into one of Potomac Pedalers’ largest events, regularly drawing over 200 riders of all ages and abilities.
As always, it’s open to everyone - new, old and nonmembers. This is a multiclass ride with something for everyone, with rides ranging from 11-51 miles, covering classes from A to D. It’s a great way to meet people who are not in your usual ride class. Three couples who met at past Nokesville Picnics have gotten married!

Back Roads Century - September 21, 2014
The Back Roads Century is one of the premier cycling events in the mid-Atlantic region, and is also considered one of the most beautiful rides in America.
Each fall in late September, Potomac Pedalers invites cycling enthusiasts of all ability levels for a great day of riding and fun in the Shenandoah Valley; with distances of 25, 30, 50, 65 and 100 miles. It’s a fully supported event providing cue sheets, rest stops with food and drinks, as well as mechanical support during your ride.Click here to register

Members may now post rides without going through any approval process or paperwork through the Club - you can post any ride at any time. We're hosting the Impromptu Ride Schedule as a service to our members - it's truly a community calendar.
