In case you missed the big century rides because they sold out,
were too hilly, or you were just too cheap to pay, here's another
chance to do a century.
It's flat, fairly shady, mostly on low
traveled roads, and it's FREE. But you have to supply your own food
and water at the rest stops that occur about every 26 miles. The
mileages shown will decrease if the bridge on Muma Ford is fixed.
Ride start eliminates crossing the busy US-15 and is only 2-5 minutes
farther than the usually MMS start.
The ride shares several roads
with Tim's "De Tour Detour" century but sometimes in the
opposite direction because we loop through Taneytown going to and
from McSherrystown. Tim may get confused and do his route. So pay
attention to your cue sheet if you're following him. All ride leaders
will probably ride the century route but "B" and "CC"
leaders may opt for 77 or 65 miles. Pace will be fairly fast since
route is fairly flat. The two middle routes use about the same roads
as the century but loop from outbound to inbound route sooner.
would be nice if you registered online for the ride (including
planned distance) to help determine quantity of cue sheets.
No go in
steady rain. Check PPTC Ride Forum or Pedalers Google Group for
