From Marshall, we'll ride a sort-of-clockwise route taking us through Delaplane, Upperville, Airmont, Philomont, Middleburg, and The Plains --the heart of Virginia horse country-- before returning to Marshall. Roads include Delaplane Grade, Snickersville Turnpike, Landmark School Rd., and Halfway Rd. RideWithGPS claims there is 3,500 feet of downhill and an equal amount of uphill. If the temperature or legs aren't cooperating there is a bailout route of 30 miles
We'll pass by plenty of country stores and Middleburg's array of food options, so you'll never be more than 12 miles from warm coffee. We can do the route as either a one- or two-stop ride. Ride leader will go uphill at a B pace, and BB on the downhills.
Here's the route: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/6393021
Ride start is Northern Fauquier Community Park, about one mile east of downtown Marshall on Hwy 55. Park features restrooms with running water and flush toilets. Heck, you even charge a cell phone. Park's official address is 4155 Monroe Parkway, Marshall, VA, 20116. Use the parking lot adjacent to the intersection of Ross Dr. and Monroe Parkway.

No go in rain, but none is predicted
