Two years ago we had 45 mph wind gusts and last year it rained all morning resulting in a delayed start and only two of us doing the ride. Maybe this year we can get sunny and 72 degrees.
The first half of the ride is hilly as we head out from LAV through Brookeville to a rest stop at the Highs/Shell in Glenelg at about mile 22 (27 on the longest route) before returning through Glenwood.
The 50 mile route takes Triadelphia Mill and Green Bridge instead of Highland/Ten Oaks before the rest stop and adds a loop off of Ed Warfield on Duvall / AE Mullinix / Rt 94 / Florence before returning to Ed Warfield.
The 55 mile route adds a loop on Triadelphia Mill, Triadelphia, and Howard before the rest stop. Otherwise, it is the same as the 50.
If the weather is particularly spectacular we’ll do one of the longer options.
Check the web site and Pedalers Google group for a go/no-go if the weather is questionable.
Alan will probably show on a single (with fenders) if the roads are very wet or there is intermittent rain.
