VDOT is seeking W&OD trail user opinions on the experimental Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) system that was installed at the intersection of the W&OD Trail and Belmont Ridge Rd in April 2013.

Survey responses will help VDOT gauge the effectiveness of the RRFB system and help decision-makers assess the prospects of installing RRFB systems at other locations in the future. The survey is very brief (should only take a couple minutes to complete) and is open to receive responses until November 30th 2014.

We are looking forward to receiving feedback from Potomac Pedalers members! Thank you!

My Opinion Why you are looking for a temporary or provisional solution but no for building a proper overpass without any lights, signals, etc? It is time to upgrade the W&OD Trail to a biking highway similar to “ The Western Maryland Rail Trail (WMRT)” and It a shame that a rich country as USA has problem to build biking highway! The Belmont intersection, Whiele Ave and Miller Rd overpasses should be build first and immediately. Woody Lipinski PPTC biking rides coordinator and biking leader, 703-203-4934
