Ride Schedule

America/New_York Hills of DC - Beginners Rock Creek Hills Join me this Saturday (10/19/19) as I will lead a Beginners Edition of the Hills of DC ride. This weeks ride takes into the Northern hills in and around Rock Creek Park. We will end the ride at Fort Reno Park the highest elevation point in DC. After that, folks can either break off and go their own way or follow me back to the start location of the ride. The ride comes in around 30 miles at 2,000 feet or so of elevation. This ride is a friendly, fun, let's get that fitness kind of ride. It is a no drop ride and it is NOT a TRAINING ride or a RACE. The pace is hilly moderate 10-12 mph average for the ride as we will be riding through the city with a lot of stop and go riding. We re-group at the top of each hill and we support each other on the ride. All are welcome. Meet 9:00 AM at District Hardware and Bike shop located at 730 Maine Ave SW, Washington, DC 20024. Wheels roll at 9:10 AM sharp. Water, restrooms, bike pumps at ride start. We will stop along the way for water bathroom breaks. I strongly advise bringing your own riding eats as there is no plan to stop for eats, per se. The ride should come in around the 3-4 hour range. Also I may have some cue sheets for the ride, but best that you download them and print them out from the PDF file provided for this ride posting. Also, there will be after ride coffee and eats at the Velo Cafe located inside the shop should anyone wish to partake!  For those traveling to ride by vehicle, please take note there are various parking garages and lots within the immediate radius of District Hardware and Bike. You can also check out www.spothero.com for parking availability and discounts on nearby lots. And for those traveling by Metrorail, take the Green line and get off at the Waterfront Metro station. Exit the station on 4th St SW and head south 1 block to M St SW. Make a right on M St SW and District Hardware and Bike is 3 blocks on the left. For directions to the District Hardware and Bike, please feel free to call the shop at (202) 659-8686, or use Google Maps. District Hardware and Bike (DHB)
