It’s Labor Day Weekend—time to stretch the legs and tailgate!
This month, join us for coffee at La Doña Cafe in Mount Pleasant before a 9:00 AM rollout and an extended tour through Montgomery County’s Agricultural Reserve. The full route is approximately 74 miles with 4,500 feet of climbing, but you don’t have to ride the full monty to join the fun. There are several opportunities to peel off during the first 25 miles, as well as options for riders who want to join us for the final 10–15 miles and the post-ride celebration.
Our first stop at around 25 miles will be the beloved Spring Mill Bread Company in Darnestown, with Oscar’s Bike Shop and Starbucks next door for anyone looking for something extra to go with a homemade pastry. From there, we’ll head deeper into the Ag Reserve for some extended touring before reaching our second rest stop at Rocklands Farm Winery, where refreshments, snacks, and a food truck await.
The day’s final leg brings us back toward DC, including an extended spin through Rock Creek Park via Beach Drive, before we cross the finish line and celebrate at Juneberry Garage in Brightwood.
