Join Karen Berlage and Tim Guilford for this is a classic ride in the PPTC inventory. It starts at the Walkersville High School and winds its way north to Gettysburg on the 100 mile loop. The metric does not go to Gettysburg. The main attractions for this ride are the low traffic roads and the covered bridges as well as a few &quot;newer&quot; ones that do not have covers (but are still old). Now that the bridge on Utica road is repaired we can include that on the ride again. The metric travels over the three covered bridges in the area. But only the Century crosses the Sachs covered bridge just outside of Gettysburg park.<br /><br />There are 3 rest stops on the 100 mile ride, and two on the metric. <br /><br />Ride leader Mobile Phone: 301-704-2723<br /><br />Please note that there is a tricky turn on the Century. In order to get to the second rest stop (it is an out and back loop) you must continue straight on White Church road at Goulden Road (mile 42.4) to Rte. 97. The rest stop is just 2 miles ahead (located on RTE 97 Baltimore Pike) at the Sheetz. Your Garmin may indicate a left turn at mile 42.4 onto Goulden Road, do not take that turn - continue straight.
