What is this?
Join your PPTC Ride Leaders and Park Rangers for a wonderful and relaxing gravel and/or Road Ride experience at the Patuxent Research Refuge North Tract. We will start the day with a Nature overview of what you can expect to see and where to see it by one of the refuge's rangers. Maps will also be provided. North Tract offers about 20 total miles of trail for walking and biking. With less visitation than South Tract, North Tract offers a quiet atmosphere for those seeking solitude of mixed Paved and Gravel trails. Bring your Gravel, Mountain, Trail Bike, Camera's and Binoculars. This is intended to be a self-paced ride and not for riders who want to go fast and hard. The Ranger will make suggestions on wear to go and where the Wildlife is to look at. The Park and Gravel Trails and Paved roads. For those who do not have gravel or MTB bikes you can walk in from the Road to view the Wildlife. The leader will lead a mixed gravel/Road route, but riders are welcome to do their own ride as the chose. Walking and Wandering is encouraged so bring your hiking shoes. This ride is capped at 30 participants max. Bring food and snacks for yourself or to share. https://www.fws.gov/refuge/patuxent-research https://www.fws.gov/sites/default/files/documents/NT%20Internet%20map.pdf
