Welcome to the Potomac Pedalers Touring Club

2017-12-03 16:00:00 2017-12-03 16:00:00 America/New_York All Member Annual Meeting Come to the Annual Meeting!  When: Sunday, December 3, 4:00 - 7:00 PM Where: River Road Unitarian Congregation, 6301 River Road, Bethesda, MD (Bike parking available) We're switching things up! The Potomac Pedalers Annual Potluck Lunch & Meeting will be held in December this year - this way the new Executive Committee will be in place at the start of the new year.  The theme for the meeting will be "Adventures on the Bike" and our guest speaker will be Barry Wood, a writer/broadcaster and avid cyclist. He recently completed a bike trip across Europe. Here's a quote from his website about his travel: Bicycle touring 2,500 miles alone across New Europe is not for the faint of heart, but Barry D. Wood spends several vacations doing just that on his trusty Cannondale hybrid. During an arduous journey—from the shores of the Baltic Sea, across the Polish plain, through Central Europe to the Danube, and over the Carpathian and Balkan mountains to the Adriatic Sea—Barry is repeatedly helped by friendly people who offer shelter and share stories of life under communism and the challenging transition that followed. We also will showcase Adventure Bike Travel Groups at the meeting. The business part of the meeting will involve our elections to the 2018 Executive Committee, information on our 2017 achievements and what's to come in 2018. We hope this will be an entertaining, informative, and fun event for all. The River Road Unitarian Universalist Congregation served as the home of our Annual Meetings for many years, and we are returning there once again. If you are coming from I-495, take Exit 39, River Rd., towards Washington. Take a left on Whittier Blvd., then an immediate left into the church parking lot. The church is less than 2 miles from the beltway. You can also get there by biking on the Capital Crescent Trail to River Road. Get off the trail there and head north on River Road to the intersection at Whittier Blvd. So bring a special dish to share and come and get some ideas on where your next bike adventure might be!
