%0A2018-07-15 08:36 %0A2018-07-15 08:36 America/New_York National Cathedral Beach to Creek 22 NOTE: Ride leaves at 8:30 AM from Silver Cycle Bike @ Dixon & Ripley  Sts.  Start is 8:30 AM, not 8:36 AM.  Website issue! We go from low elevation, Beach Dr in Rock Creek Park, to high, Ft Reno Pk, highest point of land in DC, then to the Washington Cathedral at a slightly lower elevation, then back to RC Park, through Takoma Park on Sligo Creek Pkwy. Highlights include a traverse of Talbot St bridge, which is soon to be demolished because of construction of the Purple Line, the top of Ft Reno Pk on a hard packed dirt trail of 150 yards, the Washington Cathedral, then a glorious downhill of about 3 miles on 26 th St, Broad Branch Rd to Beach Dr, which has just reopened after 6 months . You have the option of a hilly return on Ridge Rd. This is a generally hilly area of NW DC as there are very few long level stretches of road. Three rest stops are planned including at a   Starbucks, 7/11, in Takoma Park  I will plan to stop at a restaurant toward the end of ride so will not come back to Silver Cycle. Plan to attend so we can work out the logistics of where to put the bikes. The Silver Spring Metro station which is very close, has free parking on Sunday. There is no restroom at the start .     Jerry Collins 240 938 9270  jerrycbike69@gmail.com  - Other Start Location MD
